Trans* and Genderqueer Resources in Boulder County

title image

Transgender, genderqueer, gender non-conforming, and gender fluid people have unique challenges to accessing resources in the community.  This is a list of providers and agencies that have been identified as Trans* friendly by members of the Boulder County community.

For more medical resources and reviews of medical and mental health professionals, check out www.transhealthbouldercounty.org

If you would like to be considered for this list, please email mduffy[at]outboulder.org or call 303.499.5777.  We have chosen to focus on resources only availiable in the Boulder County area, but statewide resources with 24-hour hotlines or other services may be listed as well.

Additionally, if you're looking for general information on employment, including how to file a discrimination claim, coming out to your co-workers or resources for navigating education as a transgender person, see our Transgender Employment and Education Resource Page here.

All Gender Restrooms

Refuge Restrooms:

www.refugerestrooms.org -- Website Link

REFUGE is a web application that seeks to provide safe restroom access for transgender, intersex, and gender nonconforming individuals. Users can search for restrooms by proximity to a search location, add new restroom listings, as well as comment and rate existing listings. They seek to create a community focused not only on finding existing safe restroom access but also looking forward and participating in restroom advocacy for transgender, intersex, and gender nonconforming folk.

If you would like to access this resource, please follow the link above that will take you to their main website. Refuge Restrooms also has apps for the Google Play Store and Apple Store.

Organizations and Support Groups

Boulder Trans and Genderqueer Support Group

Boulder Trans and Genderqueer Support (BTGS) offers support group meetings and social gatherings for people of all ages who identify as transgender and/or identify anywhere within the gender variant spectrum/sphere/torus. Our support meetings emphasize respect for peoples' experience in all types of gender variant identities, including: trans women, trans men, trans masculine/feminine, genderqueer, agender, non-binary, gender fluid, genderfuck, two spirit, pangender, genderless, crossdresser, transsexual, queer, third gender, bi-gender, genderfluid, intersex, and of course anyone questioning/deciphering their gender identity.

For the safety and comfort of our group members, our meetings are not currently open to SOFFAs (significant others, family, friends or allies of trans and genderqueer folks). The group is consciously welcoming to gender variant people of color and persons with disabilities and we strive to build and maintain an anti-oppressive, inclusive group culture. Please come if you want support in your experience, you want to hear from others about their experience, or maybe you just want to spend time in a group of people that is accepting of you as you are. (We have a SOFFA group on Sundays 6:30-8pm at the Boulder office.)

Longmont Transgender and Gender Non-conforming Support Group
