You are invited to Nudes with 'Tudes, (Figure Drawing for Every Body). Group meets every 2nd Sunday from 2 to 5 PM. This is not a class, however you don't need to have any artistic training or experience to join. Warm up exercises will be offered for those who would like structure to get started.
This monthly event is as much about offering an opportunity for people to experience nude or costumed modeling, as it is about an opportunity to draw a live model. We can not guarantee a certain amount of financial reward for models, but there will be a tip jar.
Prospective models could consider this as a stage debut and indulge in playing out fantasy through the use of costumes and dramatic postures, body painting. Wear whatever makes you feel safe and comfortable. Models can work in pairs and experiment with improvisation and theatrical poses.
Historically drawing the human form is a many centuries old tradition. This practice helps develop our ability to see, think and draw. Emotionally, it develops empathy as we strive to capture the visual essence of another human on paper. For those new to drawing a living human in the nude, it’s one of the best ways to keep good company with oneself and others at the same time that I have found. The miracle of our being in a human form and being mutually inspired as artists (fine artist and performing artist) is both bracing and soothing tonic to help carry on in today's mad, mad world.
