This year alone, Out Boulder County produced two Pride festivals, staffed 2 community center's, operated 4 youth groups, added programs, advocated for our rights with several government agencies and trained over 800 people in businesses and non-profits throughout the County.

Mardi Moore testifies in favor of transgender nondiscrimination protections in St. Vrain Valley School DistrictWe can only continue to advance our trailblazing work in Boulder County with your continuing support, which is why I want to ask you to join us as a monthly donor. Out Boulder County started as “Boulder Pride” over 20 years ago. The passage of Amendment 2 in 1992 and the fight that ensued ignited our founders into action. Inspired by their sense of justice, the founders of Boulder Pride sparked an organization that continues to work day and night on your behalf more than twenty years later.

We have seen marriage equality, transgender visibility, and LGBTQ public accommodation protections develop from fringe considerations to the law of the land in Colorado, but the daily reality of survival for our queer youth, transgender community members, and visible gay, lesbian and bi-sexaul people can still be a climate of fear and isolation. Since the election of this current president the number of people seeking our support has dramatically increased.

The problems in front of us now are very complicated, and to address them, we need you to join us in that same spirit of our founders and help us spark an LGBTQ fire in Boulder County. There are still so many issues for LGBTQ people that need to be fixed, and the reality is that reliable, sustainable funding allows us to continue getting these important things accomplished.

Today we are asking that you be the spark that carries Out Boulder County into a new year of action and service. Monthly donors provide the confidence and fire we need to face the new set of challenges in front of us and continue to address our goals for growth and stability in our strategic plan.

Your ongoing support provides for these basic needs at OBC:
$15 a month ensures we are able to produce the weekly newsletter
$35 a month funds our confidential youth phone
$50 a month provides healthy food for one of our youth groups
$75 a month provides professional oversight for a support group
$100 a month keeps our offices lit and warm
