Speaking Out Volunteer Training

Speaking Out Training with logo.png

Become a part of our longest-standing program by volunteering as a Speaking Out panelist!

Out Boulder County's Speaking Out Program is a volunteer speaker's bureau where members of our community from every part of the LGBTQ spectrum share their stories on a panel of 3 or 4 people. These panels mostly occur in middle and high schools, but also we occasionally hold panels in churches, other non-profits, college classes, and healthcare provider trainings.

Wednesday, August 28th, 6-8 pm
First United Methodist Church of Boulder
1421 Spruce St., Boulder, CO 80302

We hold two trainings/year for new volunteers which are required in order to participate.

There are no minimum hours that a speaker is required to complete in order to be considered an active member of Speaking Out.

Volunteers who were at the training in Spring 2019 do not have to attend this training (though it is encouraged). Volunteers who were at the training in Fall 2018 have to attend to stay active volunteers in the program per BVSD rules.

Learn more and read testimonies about the power of this program on our website.

Questions? Please email Michal (they/them) at

We'll bring pizza to share while we learn about the program and work on our stories.

Thanks to First United Methodist Church for allowing us to use the space! We'll meet in the Parlor Room (we'll post signs to help direct you).
