Sliding-Scale/Co-Pay Assistance

Are you a Boulder County resident experiencing financial barriers to accessing mental health care? OBC can help.

Thanks to generous support from partners, OBC's newly implemented Sliding-Scale/Co-Pay Assistance Program provides short-term financial support to LGBTQ+ individuals in Boulder County via mental health care co-pays and/or sliding-scale fees. This program is open to people who are already working with a provider, and to those who need help connecting with a provider.

If you need help accessing mental health care, please fill out this confidential form. This form is your way to share your needs with us so we can help you access the assistance you deserve.

Assistance limits are as follows:

  • Up to three (3) months with a cap of $100 per session paid directly to the provider.

  • The provider must be willing to invoice and receive payments from Out Boulder County for your services.

Verification Requirements

  • Address verification: one form (utility bill, ID, shelter letter/email, paystub, bank statement, bill, rental contract, transcript or report card, motor vehicle registration, change of address form)

  • Income verification: for income received within the last 12 months (paystub, W-2, employer letter, federal income tax return document 2022/2023, SSI/SSDI letter, 1099)

Vital Document Assistance

Are you experiencing financial barriers to accessing your vital documents?

OBC’s Vital Documents Assistance Program aims to provide financial support to LGBTQ+ individuals seeking access to vital documents, such as state IDs, drivers licenses, and birth certificates. You must live in the state of Colorado to qualify for this program.

Assistance is limited to the cost of documentation at this time (including filing fees, where applicable). Out Boulder County will make payments directly to the vendor on your behalf (i.e., the Department of Motor Vehicles, VitalChek, etc.) via check or credit card. Direct cash assistance will not be distributed to anyone for the purpose of obtaining vital documents.

Completion of this form does not guarantee assistance. Assistance will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis until funds run out. Please reserve these funds for individuals who have no/minimal access to financial resources.

Basic Needs Assistance

Thanks to support from our partners, this program provides limited financial support to LGBTQ+ Boulder County residents seeking assistance meeting basic needs including, but not limited to, groceries, gas, bill assistance, etc.

Assistance limits are as follows: One time assistance of up to $300 per person, paid directly to the vendor or provided on a gift card.

The ASTRA Fund:
Advancing and Sustaining Trans Rights and Autonomy

We are now accepting statewide applications for the ASTRA Fund!

The Fund for Advancing and Sustaining Trans Rights and Autonomy (ASTRA) aims to help transgender people of color seeking gender-affirming care.

The ASTRA fund recognizes that transgender people of color often face compounded challenges, both socio-economically and in healthcare accessibility. By establishing this initiative, Out Boulder County is not only addressing immediate needs but also championing a broader movement towards equity and justice. This is especially crucial nowadays as transgender rights and autonomy are being undermined and attacked across the country. Supporting the ASTRA fund is not just aiding individuals; it's also fortifying a collective stand for bodily autonomy.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until funding runs out. All Colorado residents statewide are eligible. This is a need-based initiative but we review all applications holistically.
