Executive Leadership

Mardi Moore has dedicated her life’s work to elevating the rights, visibility, safety, and socio-economic status of the LGBTQ+ community, building grassroots organizations from the ground up, living through the AIDS pandemic, and continuing to see the gradual, albeit slower-than-wished, acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community into mainstream public discourse.

Moore has been on the frontlines of the good fight for 30 years at the local and national level, recognizing that her role in demanding inclusion and diversity needed to go beyond armchair activism. She currently serves as Executive Director for Out Boulder County, a Colorado-based not-for-profit organization with the mission of working independently and in collaboration, we facilitate connection, advocacy, education, research and programs to ensure LGBTQ+ people and communities thrive in Boulder County and beyond. Under her leadership, the organization has grown five-fold in seven years by modeling equality, respect, intersectional empathy, and deep understanding of the fundamental human right to fall asleep at night dreaming of an optimistic, realistic tomorrow.

Prior to leading Out Boulder County, Moore held senior-level positions in New York City with the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, the NYC LGBT Center, and ran a fundraising business in Seattle raising over $2M annually for progressive causes.

Tamora Tanniehill (She/Her) is a Licensed Professional Counselor and the Director of Behavioral Health & Wellness for Out Boulder County. As a long-standing advocate and enthusiast for mental health, Tamora has dedicated her professional life to supporting some of the most underrepresented and marginalized individuals in their quest to not only survive but thrive.

Tamora began her social services journey during her undergraduate career at CU Boulder where she earned dual degrees in Psychology as well as Women and Gender Studies and later returned to school at Regis University where she earned her master’s in clinical Mental Health Counseling.

Over the last decade, she has worked specifically with individuals experiencing intimate partner violence, multisystem involved youth, transition-aged adults experiencing homelessness and individuals experiencing struggles with substance use. (All of which were disproportionately comprised of LGBTQ+ and BIPOC folx.) Witnessing the severe lack in accessible, quality and culturally competent care for these social groups catalyzed a passion for and everlasting goal to become a provider that not only accounts for but adapts to the intersections encompassed in an individual’s identity. In this work with Out Boulder County, Tamora hopes to support the most radical forms of activism and healing through system navigation, basic needs support and mental health care.

Outside of work, you can find Tamora spending time with her amazing wife and two dogs, having game nights with close friends or slowing down with a good show. She is a fan of the crafted arts and loves to create fun things out of clay and paint wooden boxes.
