OBC Training Program Debuts a Training Badge

Our Beyond Binary LGBTQ+ Training Program has been a long-standing aspect of our work to ensure LGBTQ+ people and communities thrive in Boulder County and beyond. This program educates the staff, members, volunteers, and/or affiliated groups of businesses, agencies and service providers, nonprofits, and other organizations about how to better understand and serve LGBTQ+ clients and staff. Since 2018, we have provided well over 100 trainings, including regional business with international footprints.

We are excited to announce that entities that host these trainings can now easily share their ongoing commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusivity by displaying our new training badge on their website and communications materials for internal and external audiences. This badge communicates that they value LGBTQ+ inclusivity and have taken the important step of educating their teams. It also helps other organizations learn about our training program.

Prioritizing dedicated time for education is an important strategy to establish a shared foundation of understanding, facilitate personal and organizational reflection, and reinforce the values of diversity and inclusivity. Though a single training session can help, we know that ongoing education and conversations are critical for real impact. We encourage recurring and ongoing sessions and are including the training year on the badge to help emphasize that this learning is not a “one and done” situation, but rather requires ongoing engagement.

We are committed to making our training program accessible to any entity that is committed to LGBTQ+ inclusivity. We have competitive fees that allow us to sustain and further develop this program and other Out Boulder County programs and services. We continue to offer a significant discount for nonprofit organizations and commit to working with small organizations on a case-by-case basis as needed.

Our Beyond Binary training program offers sessions that cover the core concepts and etiquette essentials as well as customized content tailored to specific sectors, audiences, interests, and learning objectives. We work with hosting entities to reach their educational goals.
