Queer Art Organics + Queer Creatives Writing Workshop

Queer Art Organics is a variety show open mic celebrating homegrown art by LGBTQ+ folx. Each month features 1-2 performers in addition to an open mic: music makers, comics, poets, playwrights, performance artists, and creatives of all kinds. Hosted/curated by Aimee Herman.

Before the Open Mic, come to the Queer Creatives Writing Workshop! All you need is something to write with and write on ((some supplies will also be provided). This is an informal, welcoming space to write through inspired prompts. Free and for all ages.

Sunday, May 28
Queer Creative Writing Workshop: 1 - 2:30pm
Open Mic: 3 - 5pm
OBC's Equality Center of the Rocky Mountains
3340 Mitchell Ln, Boulder, CO 80301

May's features are Steph Lujan (they/them) & Doc Martin (he/him).

Steph Lujan just wants to sing their songs for people. They have been writing and performing songs from a young age and they still want to “be a musician when they grow up.

Doc Martin is an enigma. Part 18th century Scottish Jacobite, 1950s beatnik poet, and 2020s all-around eccentric, this bohemian time traveler is the guy you didn’t know you needed. He’s sweet, he’s loyal, and if you get too close, you’ll stick. To get charged up, this granddad of one and dad of at least two swears by the fresh air at the top of a mountain and at least 3 cups of coffee a day. He believes in leaving the world more beautiful than when you found it, which is why he copiously paints nudes.
