Status of position: Full time - 40 hours per week

Primary Responsibilities:
• This position will be key in nurturing and cultivating the Shelter's current volunteer base while expanding the network to meet the needs of new programs and opportunities

Team Leader
· Oversee all aspects of team’s ongoing, housing-focused outreach throughout the City of Boulder
· Build and maintain collaborative working-relationships with HSBC, City of Boulder, the VA, and other partner agencies to increase housing outcomes in Boulder County
· Ensure that the team’s goals are well-defined, reasonably met, and well-reported
· Supervise team members to ensure safe and effective work
· Conduct weekly one-on-one supervision meetings with each team member

This role will be required to work evenings and weekends based on community needs.

Job Summary:
The Creative Technologist programs the library’s makerspace and works directly with patrons of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. The Creative Technologist maintains the facility and its resources in good working order; designs and delivers special programs; provides instruction and teaches patrons on using the facility’s materials, tools, and equipment safely; and coaches makers through projects. This position also partners with creatives in the community on maker events and trains volunteers to assist in the makerspace.

We are looking for someone who is a skilled and creative maker with a passion for public service, STEAM education, and community building. They will be pivotal in creating welcoming and educational experiences for people from diverse communities.

Essential Functions:
Designs, promotes, teaches, and evaluates makerspace programs for the public. Collaborates with local area artists, makers, business owners, and entrepreneurs on programs and outreach events. (30%)
Provides one-on-one coaching for individuals’ projects and safety and equipment training for makerspace users. (20%)
Provides regular maintenance and cleaning of the facility and its tools and equipment; repairs or replaces malfunctioning equipment promptly. (20%)
Coordinates with Volunteer Services for recruiting and orientation of volunteers to assist the public in the makerspace. (15%)
Creates and documents application and systems standards, maintenance procedures, and operational procedures and maintains an inventory of equipment and software. Purchases tools and materials for classes and general use. (15%)

Additional Responsibilities:
Dreams up additional creative uses and programs for the makerspace.
Serves as a maker/STEAM resource for library staff. Attends meetings, serves on library-wide committees and projects, and participates in professional development opportunities.
Performs administrative tasks such as answering emails, scheduling, preparing vendor contracts, reconciling purchases, and reporting statistics.
Completes safety/emergency training (on CPR, AED, etc.).
Serves as a Manager on Duty at Library as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
Instructional experience in a makerspace or similar educational setting –or- a Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience and two years of technical training with instructional experience.
Demonstrated ability to provide one-on-one and small group instruction.
Comfortable with a hands-on approach to projects, particularly an ability to improvise with audiences of varied ages and abilities.
Valid Colorado driver's license and acceptable motor vehicle record. Willing use of personal vehicle (mileage will be reimbursed).

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience using and troubleshooting two or more of the following technologies: laser cutting and engraving, 3D printing and scanning, digital design software or CAD, fiber arts, printmaking, CNC fabrication or other related makerspace technologies.

Spanish language skills and/or experience working with patrons from a variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds.

Works primarily in workshop environment subject to background noise from machinery. Use of personal protective equipment is required in some situations. Requires ability to stand and/or walk continuously. Frequent bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, pushing, pulling and circling all part of the normal requirement for fabrication in the makerspace. Ability to do the above with a maximum of 50 lbs. individually. Work may include extended periods of time viewing a computer video monitor and/or operating a keyboard. Job Summary:
The BoulderReads Literacy Specialist administers literacy program systems, manages data and communications to support program participants and advance community engagement in the BoulderReads literacy program. The Specialist assists with planning, implementing, and evaluating programs such as individual tutoring and Career Online High School that enable participants to achieve their learning, professional and life goals. They coordinate marketing and communication to ensure awareness of BoulderReads programs and services and assist with planning and implementation of literacy events to celebrate the work of program participants and with partner organizations and support outreach efforts.

Job Summary:
The Cataloging Specialist II catalogs library materials in all formats for the circulating and reference collections using nationally established standards. They create and maintain online catalog records to make library materials accessible to patrons. They are knowledgeable in the use of cataloging tools and resources. The Cataloging Specialist II communicates in English or Spanish, as appropriate, when performing their work.

Essential Functions:
Accurately performs copy cataloging for library materials in the integrated library system. Batch loads vendor-created records, checks consistency and quality, and makes corrections as needed. Primarily catalogs non-fiction materials and catalogs material in other genres as needed. Exercises informed and independent judgment to evaluate, select, and edit records from available sources that meet national standards as well as local requirements. (45%)
Creates original MARC-format bibliographic records according to nationally prescribed cataloging rules. (35%)
Performs maintenance of the library catalog database, corrects problems and errors, creates additional access points for catalog records that allows for effective manipulation and display of bibliographic information. Responds to colleagues' questions and resolves problems related to library materials and catalog records by promptly communicating courteously and effectively with others. (10%)
Supports the physical processing of materials and data management, including but not limited to loading and troubleshooting MARC records, Edifact ordering, and invoicing. (10%)

Additional Responsibilities:
Maintains knowledge of the full range of online bibliographic record resources, including Z39.50 and bibliographic utilities.
Attends regional cataloging meetings.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
Education and experience – Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education that includes a broad educational background to perform accurate subject analysis and classification of library materials. At least one year of original or copy cataloging experience. Prior work experience must demonstrate successful performance of tasks the require a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Technical experience – Intermediate skill using personal computers and software, including Microsoft Windows 365. Experience applying detailed and complex standards and using tools including, but not limited to: MARC coding, AACR2 cataloging rules, Dewey Decimal Classification System, Library of Congress subject headings, and Library of Congress authority files.
Skills – Skilled with analyzing information for accuracy and organizing information and materials in a logical manner. Self-directed and able to concentrate on tasks in a busy, open environment.
Language Skills: Reads, writes, and speaks Spanish fluently.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Library Science or library cataloging coursework.
Familiarity with FRBR and RDA cataloging rules.
Experience using Innovative Interfaces, Inc. integrated library systems.
